TPU material is not all that makes invisible car films.
At present, the materials of invisible car films on the market are roughly divided into three types: TPH, PU, and TPU.
Characteristics of TPH materials
The earliest invisible car films were made of PVC material. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is a very common material, commonly known as PVC in Chinese and plastic in daily life. PVC has poor chemical stability and can decompose at high temperatures, releasing hydrogen chloride (toxic gas), causing it to change color and turn yellow; Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause oxidation, making car clothing harder and more brittle, with a lifespan of around 1-2 years; And it will peel off the adhesive during tearing, causing corrosion and damage to the car paint, which has been abandoned.
TPH material car films: In chemical classification, TPH does not exist. The production principle is to add plasticizers on top of PVC, but its essence is still PVC, and the performance improvement is not significant. Compared to PVC, TPH has a more significant ability to resist yellowing, but it is still brittle during use, has poor scratch resistance, and does not have the ability to repair scratches. More seriously, after a period of use, the plasticizer in TPH material will also precipitate, which can easily cause the adhesive layer to fall off and cause offset printing on the paint surface. And the plasticizer that precipitates cannot flow out, it will corrode the car paint and instead reverse the purpose of sticking car films.
